A Family Legacy Reborn

In the historic Spanish town of Yepes, also called “Toledillo” and just a short drive from Toledo, a unique heritage, culture, and hospitality project is underway.

For generations, Yepes was home to Leticia’s family. Their ancestral house once stood in the town centre, near the Colegiata de San Benito Abad, the Madres Carmelitas convent, and the lively Main Street, where festivals and bull runs still take place. When the home could no longer be saved, it was sadly demolished—but the dream to preserve its spirit remained.

Today, Leticia and her family are rebuilding their beloved home, creating more than just a residence: a welcoming space where visitors can experience the history and traditions of Yepes and feel part of its community. This project brings the story full circle, honouring the past while offering a cultural place for the future.

Traditions

Yepes is a gem for lovers of history, architecture, and tradition. Its crown jewel, the 16th-century Colegiata de San Benito Abad, is called the “cathedral of La Mancha.” Around it, the Plaza Mayor and historic streets invite visitors to explore, while remnants of medieval walls and gates like the Puerta de Toledo tell stories of resilience and artistry across generations.

Traditions

What makes Yepes truly special is how its traditions remain alive. During Semana Santa, processions illuminate the streets with candles and solemn music. In summer, visitors witness the town’s bull runs, a symbol of its deep-rooted customs. During Corpus Christi and Jornadas Calderonianas, the town transforms into a stage of colour, theatre, and festivity, connecting past and present.

Rebuilding Leticia’s family home is more than a dream. It offers visitors a place to stay, explore, and experience Yepes’ traditions. By opening this home, Leticia hopes to inspire others to discover the town and fall in love with its charm. Soon, at the heart of Toledillo, a new home will welcome all - a place where heritage and hospitality meet.
